Thirst fills and consumes my soul.
Everything seems grey, dreary, and drab,
I need something to make me whole.
Idols tempt to bring satisfaction.
I turn to broken cisterns
But find they only bring distraction;
To your love I must return.
"Come, everyone who thirsts," your Word says,
"Delight yourselves in rich food."
Trade your crumbs for His fulfilling bread
And discover what is true.
Thirst is not the ultimate problem.
No, it is a chance to come
And to the living water succumb
To Him all joy comes from.
