I'm leading a training on interacting with international students tomorrow and I just read this really interesting quote: "Christianity does not destroy culture but transforms it" (Professor Darrell Whiteman). What a great thought. Christianity isn't for white Americans, or for Western people. When people from other countries come to Christ they don't have to get rid of their culture. It's only through the beauty of many countries, cultures, and peoples that God's glory is fully displayed. "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb..." (Revelation 7:9).
sidenote: a post on India will be coming soon! Or rather, many posts. Or at least posts that are influenced by what I learned in India.
